Hirschkäfer
A project for a German tank destroyer from the 1970s based on the Leopard 1 with an autoloader. The designers believed the vehicle could efficiently hit enemy tanks from ranges at which return fire would not pose a threat. However, it was found that this task could be performed perfectly well by the latest Bundeswehr tank, the Leopard 2, which was in active development at the time. As a result, the military decided not to build a prototype of the vehicle.
