Born of both mortal and celestial grace, Erlang Shen sought no glory in the Heavenly Court, devoting himself instead to the mortal realm. A master of endless transformations through divine arts, he split Mount Tao to save his mother, bore the sun and moon upon his shoulders to patrol the heavens, and won eternal renown through boundless devotion. He obeyed Heaven's call yet bowed to none. He slew flood dragons, tamed raging waters, and drove away calamity wherever his blessing reached. Thus do people of all lands worship Lord Erlang, whose name shines through the ages.
