WZ-219
In the early 1970s, China started developing a light tank to replace the outdated Type 62. The compact, fast vehicle was supposed to equal main battle tanks in terms of firepower. The design included a multifunctional aiming and rangefinding system; however, this turned out too bulky and required a separate power unit. Due to the difficulties and high costs, the project was closed.
